Nutrition labelling requirements in Honduras
Packaged food sold in Honduras must carry a nutrition declaration under RTCA 67.01.60:10 (adopted HN via ARSA). This page covers the Honduras - RTCA 67.01.60:10 format: Same RTCA base via ARSA / Secretaría de Salud. A compliant Honduran nutrition label declares 9 mandatory nutrients: energía, proteínas, grasa total, grasa saturada, grasa trans, carbohidratos totales, azúcares totales, fibra dietética and sodio. Values are declared per serving as sold, with energy in kcal, and sodium rather than salt. The panel is headed "Información Nutricional". Spanish is required on pack. There is no mandatory front-of-pack warning scheme. Honduras adopts RTCA 67.01.60:10 rather than writing its own labelling text, so a label built to that standard travels across every market that adopted it. NFL builds a print-ready Honduran nutrition label from your recipe, applying the rounding rules and reference intakes for Honduras automatically, and exports it as PDF, PNG, SVG, JPG or EPS.
Official regulation
Key facts
One standard, 6 markets
Honduras applies RTCA 67.01.60:10, a harmonised standard adopted in full by 5 other markets. A label built to this standard is accepted in all of them, subject to each market's own language rules and its own enforcement body. The sibling markets are Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama.
Honduras food labelling requirements under RTCA 67.01.60:10
Honduras applies the Central American Technical Regulation RTCA 67.01.60:10 on nutrition labelling of prepackaged foods for people aged three and over, approved by COMIECO Resolution 277-2011 and in force. Its rules are mandatory when a food carries nutrition information, a nutrition claim or a health claim; it does not require a panel on every packaged food.
Honduras has one notable difference: the regulation expressly applies to fermented and distilled alcoholic drinks in Honduras and Costa Rica, although they are excluded elsewhere in the region.

Honduras nutrition label nutrient declaration
When a declaration is used, the mandatory core is energy, total fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates, sodium and protein.
Saturated fat may be left out when a portion has less than 0.5 g total fat and no fat or cholesterol claim is made, using the prescribed "not a significant source" statement. Sodium under 5 mg may be shown as zero or with a similar statement.
Claims add requirements: total sugars for carbohydrate claims, fibre for fibre claims, and the full fatty acid breakdown plus cholesterol for fat or cholesterol claims. Values must come from representative analysis or recognised composition data, and the registration holder is responsible for their accuracy.

Honduras nutrition panel format and language
The panel is a table or text with numerical values. Energy is in kJ, with kcal optional, per 100 g, per 100 mL, or per portion if the number of portions is stated. Protein, carbohydrate, fibre and fat are in grams; vitamins and minerals in SI units, as a percentage of the reference value, or both.
Spanish is mandatory for nutrition and health information. If an imported product's nutrition information is in another language, a complementary Spanish label is mandatory.

Honduras imported food labelling and ARSA
The general labelling regulation RTCA 67.01.07:10 is in force for prepackaged foods sold in Honduras. It requires, as applicable, the food's true name, ingredients, net content, sanitary registration, responsible business, country of origin, lot, expiry and storage information. Imported foods must also name the importer or distributor, and a complementary Spanish label can supply missing or non-Spanish information.
The Agencia de Regulación Sanitaria de Honduras (ARSA) is the sanitary authority. Its procedures require label copies, and it states that any nutrition table must follow the RTCA.
